SmartCLOUDTM EPS supports below encryption algorithms:
• Twofish
• DESede
• AES
+Can I create multiple backup policies for one machine in SmartCLOUD™ EPS OBM?
Yes, you can create multiple backup policies for one machine, below is an example:
• Backup Policy 1: Backup the system image at 10:00pm
• Backup Policy 2: Backup the database at 1:00am
• Backup Policy 3: Backup all the files on D drive at 4:00am
+Why I cannot login SmartCLOUD™ EPS OBM agent using the account in SmartCLOUD™ EPS Welcome Email?
The account in SmartCLOUDTM EPS Welcome Email is the system administrator account of SmartCLOUDTM EPS Server management portal; you must first create the backup user in SmartCLOUDTM EPS Server management portal and login SmartCLOUDTM EPS OBM agent with the account you create.
+Why the “Restore” button cannot be shown on the SmartCLOUD™ EPS Web Management Portal?
For data security reason, we don’t allow customer download the backup files from public web portal.
+Can I define the retention period for each user?
Yes, you can define the retention period for each user. Go to “Manage User” >> ”List User”, select the corresponding user and click “Backup Set”, enter the days in “Retention Customization Policy”.
+Can I perform ad-hoc backup in SmartCLOUD™ EPS Web Management Portal?
Yes, you can ad-hoc run any backup job in SmartCLOUDTM EPS Web Management portal. To perform an ad-hoc backup, go to “Manage User” >> “Run Backup” >> “All”, select the backup job you want to run and click “Run Backup”.
+ Where can I check the backup status for all the backup users?
Answer: You can login the SmartCLOUDTM EPS web management portal and go to “Manage Log” >> “Backup Job”, under the “Status” column you can view the status of all the backup jobs. For detail information please refers to SmartCLOUDTM EPS Administrator Guide.
+Where can I check how much backup storage I have used?
You can login the SmartCLOUDTM EPS web management portal and go to “Manage User” >> “List User” >> “All”, under the “Used/Quota” column you can view the storage used by each backup user. When the customer’s backup data exceeds 85% of total storage, CITIC Telecom CPC CS hotline will notify the customer by Email.
+My backup data is very large and my Internet bandwidth is very small, does SmartCLOUD™ EPS has any seed load or offline upload service?
Yes, we offer the seed load service. If the customer’s backup data is very large and the bandwidth is small, it is not realistic to transfer such large amount of data through network. Our engineer will come to customer’s office to perform an onsite backup, save the data to a removable hard disk, bring it back to SmartCLOUDTM EPS platform and import to customer’s backup server, then next backup only the delta change will be transmitted through the network. However, this seed load service requires additional charge and the price depends on the data amount.
