Recently, The Committee on SDN/NFV/AI Standards and Industry Promotion (hereinafter referred to as “SNAI Committee”) called for the selection of “2022 Outstanding SDN, NFV, and Network AI Case in China". “GCL’s SD-WAN Optimization Project”, jointly submitted by China Entercom and Generali China Life Insurance Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “GCL”), has been selected as “2022 Outstanding SDN, NFV, and Network AI Case in China – Innovative Case Award”.

To evaluate the submitted cases, the SNAI Committee has invited industry experts from various operators, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), vendors, renowned universities, and scientific research institutions. Judges conducted offline discussions and online presentation by applicants to provide comprehensive analysis on the case from different perspectives, including solutions’ background, technical features, comparative advantages, and its commercial value. Finally, judges conducted online Q&A sessions following each applicant’s presentation to glean further insights into the cases.

Generali China Life Insurance Co., Ltd. founded in 2002 as a joint-venture between China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. (Generali Group), was the first Sino-foreign joint-ventured insurer approved by the Chinese Government after China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). In September 2016, the Chinese shareholder, CNPC, transferred 50% of its equity interest in GCL to CNPC Capital Company Limited (CNPC Capital) without compensation. Currently, the registered capital of GCL is RMB 3.7 billion and its total assets exceed RMB 100 billion.

The Committee on SDN/NFV/AI Standards and Industry Promotion (CCSA TC610) operates under the guidance of Communication Development of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, governed by China Communications Standards Association. Jointly established by China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and industry partners, with the philosophy of “Openness, innovation, collaboration, and implementation”. The committee puts strong emphasis on a variety of areas, including but not limited to cloud-network integration, autonomous network, ubiquitous computing, MEC, open network equipment and network security, with the ultimate goal of constructing a highly efficient and impactful industry ecosystem and collaborative platform. Simultaneously, promoting extensive collaboration across industry units, as well as accelerating the business application of technology such as SDN, NFV, autonomous network/networking AI and MEC.
