Recently, Mr. Daniel Kwong, Chief Information and Innovation Officer of CITIC Telecom CPC, won the "2020 China Outstanding IT Enterprise Leader" Honorary title at the "2020 China CIO Summit Forum and 2020 China Excellent CIO Awards Ceremony" held by CCW Media.

Today, with the booming development of innovative technology, CITIC Telecom CPC actively embraces innovation, insisting on its business philosophy, “innovation never stops”, and puts it into practice. The company officially set up a department dedicated for innovation in 2016, Information Technology Services and Data Science Department. Mr. Daniel Kwong is the Chief Information and Innovation Officer leading the department.


Mr. Daniel Kwong holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and a Master of Science degree in Information Technology and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Research from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has more than 20 years of abundant management and technology development experience in the information technology industry and is mainly responsible for managing Information technology development and the operation of facilities for the company. He also conducts in-depth research on innovative technology, actively promotes innovation and leads the company's Information Technology Services and Data Science Department to explore the behaviour patterns and habits of corporate customers.


The mission of the Information Technology Services and Data Science Department is to become the company’s innovation-driven engine, encouraging attempts heading to new directions and technologies. Mr. Daniel Kwong vividly describes the department as “the brain that stimulates the company to be innovative”. The Information Technology Services and Data Science Department led by him includes a global innovation team composed of dozens of scientific research talents. They have rich experience and methodologies in the field of applications, such as machine learning and deep learning, and usually conduct brainstorming discussions. The members of his team in Chengdu are mainly responsible for data analysis, algorithms and API; the members in Guangzhou are responsible for core applications and computer vision; the members in Hong Kong are mainly responsible for structure and project management; and the members in Europe specialize in programming.


Being the Chief Information and Innovation Officer of CITIC Telecom CPC, Mr. Daniel Kwong leads the company to achieve strategic development and practical implementation of information technology. He is the leader in innovative technology in the company and possesses innovative spirit. He ceaselessly promotes the company’s information technology strategy, leading the company to strengthen its competitiveness. Furthermore, Mr. Daniel Kwong also takes a pivotal role in promoting the development of CITIC Telecom CPC and works with the company to cope with corporate customers’ needs of digital transformation.
