I accept Tallinn Internet Exchange (TLLIX) is managed by us and can be used by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to exchange data at a national and international level. The TLLIX is a service for commercial ISPs, academic networks and companies active in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, the Baltic states and Scandinavia.
The required routing protocol for peering is BGP (version 4). The correct routing register for the TLLIX peering documentation is the RIPE database. Currently, Ethernet (1000BASE-T (copper)), 1000BASE-SX (multi-mode) and 1000BASE-LX/LH (single model) is offered as a common exchange medium.
What is the TLLIX?
TLLIX is a new neutral meeting place where Participants can connect to the TLLIX high-speed LAN to exchange IP traffic and collocate their IP equipment. TLLIX provides a unique set of services to its participants: advanced Internet Service Providers, Content Providers and large Enterprises in Estonia.
The TLLIX high-speed LAN is built using a redundant architecture with stackable Cisco switches. The design is highly scalable and capacity can easily and quickly be adapted in step with demand. TLLIX is fully monitored 24/7/365 and emergency access can be granted to Participants within the hour.
Where is TLLIX located?
The TLLIX high-speed LAN is physically located in our advanced co-location building. This building was constructed by Bechtel in 2000 and has all the state-of-the-art power, environmental and security facilities a modern colocation facility requires.
In addition, it has direct fiber connectivity with TIX at Sõle 14, the FICIX in Helsinki and Netnod in Stockholm, as well as with the RIKS building at Ädala 4f. Further connectivity is with MSK-IX, SPB-IX and LIX.
Who can join TLLIX?
TLLIX was created to provide Internet Service Providers, Content Providers and large Enterprises with an alternative meeting point to exchange traffic. The prerequisites for joining the TLLIX are few and transparent: having an AS number, being capable of setting up and maintaining BGP-4 sessions with other participants and adhering to the Technical Requirements and Acceptable Use Policy is sufficient. No lengthy procedures, no ballots, no waiting lists.
How do I join TLLIX?
Joining TLLIX is simple: just contact us and you will be called by us. We will then walk you through our questionnaire and provide you with an offer the next day. Alternatively, you can download and return our TLLIX Membership Order Form.
Installation of your equipment and connection to the TLLIX LAN can generally be done within one week.
