中信國際電訊（1883）旗下的中信國際電訊（信息技術）（下稱中信國際電訊CPC）與香港應科院宣布，共同研究及開發採用AR的新一代操作及維護技術，以改善設備中心的整體操作及維護品質，幫助生產力提高約50%。

中信國際電訊CPC表示，將與應科院展開長達18個月的研發合作，由集團出資認購應科院為其「度身訂造」的人工智能技術，首階段會在中信國際電訊CPC全球的設備中心、客戶服務中心等地方應用。中信國際電訊CPC行政總裁何偉中表示，未來會考慮將應用推廣到不同行業，例如建築工程及建造業等。

公司解釋，前線工程師過往都會使用智能電話及手提電腦等協助進行系統安裝、維護及故障排除等工作，但要同時管理及使用眾多不同設備，往往要耗用大量時間與精神。在現場實地引入AR智能眼鏡技術，可從後台系統把實時訊息、故障排除記錄、圖像及加密數據串流傳送，方便前線工程師隨時隨地查看所需資料。

公司又補充，雖未能透露是次合作的投資額，但利用應科院的研發技術及人才，較公司自行開發技術更合乎經濟效益，節省公司的研發資本開支。
