Managed security gains traction in HK firms

More HK companies now outsource their cybersecurity needs

In the last 12 months, CITIC Telecom CPC saw expansion of its customer profile beyond the traditional FSI organizations as more Hong Kong companies become aware of the damage a data breach can do to their business.

Daniel Kwong, chief technology and innovation officer, CITIC Telecom CPC, noted a growing number of customers from other sectors, including property, logistics and transportation, manufacturing and trading, retail, and professional services among others.

“Many companies are overwhelmed by the volume of data generated from security and network devices,” he said. “This information overload reduces actionable visibility. Companies often lack staff with relevant expertise to handle proper security incident responses."

CITIC Telecom CPC bagged the prize for the managed security services category—the company has consistently won this award multiple times since 2012.

The company won't rest on its laurels, as it expects to add more advanced features to its TrustCSI Managed Security. “Through our upcoming next generation ‘TrustCSI Secure AI', we will be able to automatically fight in-progress cyberattacks using artificial intelligence," said Kwong.
